If you buy it you eat it!

I know this is a "no brainer" but I still forget sometimes. I will get the kids a treat they are begging for like candy corn and then it is in the house and I haven't developed my will poweer enough to resist things like candy corn (it is one of my favorite candies). Some stuff is not a temptation...like chips...but I think I need to avoid buying the triggers just until I have a handle on my sweet tooth.
Yesterday I didn't make it to the gym because I ran out of time. I did run with the dog for 20 minutes...just 10 minutes short of my training plan goal. I have only a 3 mile run on Monday so I am planning on getting to the gym today to make up the difference and to do some weights.
Sleep is another piece of the healthy living puzzle I am starting to work on. I am a night person and a morning person if that makes sense. I love staying up late and I really look forward to the alone time I get...Most of what I do isn't anything important. I check blogs...look at stuff on the internet...watch HGTV, Food Network or TLC...I do talk to Ryan which is important and I work on finances and I also spend time on my lessons for Sunday school but...Hendrix is in bed by 8:30 and I am in bed by 11:30 at the earliest...many nights it is almost 1 am...Then I am up at 6:30 or 7. This might be okay except it is all the time and lately I have been having troubles falling asleep...I will look at the clock and it will say 4am and I have just been laying there. This is how I was pre cancer diagnosis...for a least a year and a half I struggled with this. I would go to bed at 1 or 2 am and then I was up by 5:15am for our exercise group...this takes its toll. It has only been an issue again since the summer. Any advise from you good sleepers would be fabulous!

I need sleep advice, too. That happens to me all the time. I always look at the clock and get sooo mad that I am not asleep. Once a week or so I have to take half a Unisom and that knocks me out pretty well. It was great to see you and get out of the house on Tuesday. You are doing great and I need to buy some of your healthy snacks.

So I have this theory. Our bodies have a cut off time. Mine is around 9:30-10:00. If I can get myself in bed around that time I will fall fast to sleep, if i push through it and go to bed later I have a hard time falling asleep. Kind of like our kids, they get their second wind if we don't get them to bed before 8:00. I totally believe it and have been working on getting to bed earlier. This week I have been horrible and it has caught up with me yesterday. I totally freaked out on my kids and it was because of too many days in a roll of not enough sleep.
